No commentsHesitating Best Fit For The All And All !
The book, “Black Like Me” was about a “White-Man”, that took lots of pills to change his skin pigment, and see what it was like to live in “Society” as a so called “Black-Man”.
It killed him, to try and become white again, as he was treated so rude, and immensely discriminated. He died as the pills to turn you “Back” of skin tone alone, were different.
Once you go black or white, or what-ever, be sure you can get back inside out, as trying to go out-side best so called back in, offers more than double-trouble.
This is meant to be difficult to understand, as grace is offered in the lines, so as to keep you from jumping into changing color or sex, to quick.. (Read the full post about ‘Hesitating Best Fit For The All And All !’…)
No commentsSecurity Stepped Up As German Theatre Breaks Taboo By Staging Satanic Verses
A German theater is to stage the world premiere of the controversial Salman Rushdie novel The Satanic Verses, breaking a long taboo and prompting fears of a backlash by local Muslims.
The Hans Otto theater in Potsdam, south-west of Berlin, is due to begin an eight-week run of the stage adaptation of the 1988 novel on Sunday, aiming, said its director, to expose it to a new audience.
Police authorities in the city said security at the theater and in Potsdam would be increased for fear of attacks by Muslim fundamentalists.
Muslims were offended by what they regarded as blasphemous references in the book, causing Iran to issue a fatwa calling on Muslims to kill the writer. (Read the full post about ‘Security Stepped Up As German Theatre Breaks Taboo By Staging Satanic Verses’…)

No commentsHidden Secrets
Secrets are hidden everywhere you don’t even want to know, at times. Secret to secret, secrets. I’ll more than keep it quite, if you do. Just how wise is she? Wiser than her years, but you know your even wiser, and mustn’t reveal yourself. I’ll take over where she leaves off. How will you ever take over anything F.B.I. ish, or B.F.I. ish, if you can’t keep a secret! We don’t keep any secrets around here. Were so open we can start the next war. Wars of words, may leave themselves materially weaponless, for decades even until that one secret breaks out.
Secrets can offer themselves to help stop wars as well. Secret against secret wars then can come to be yet still. (Read the full post about ‘Hidden Secrets’…)

No commentsOn The Yankee Station by William Boyd
On The Yankee Station by William Boyd is a series of short stories, the longest of which provides the title for the set. This particular story is a superb piece of short fiction, much more than a short story, confronting, in less than twenty-five pages, several big issues and, at the same time, drawing its characters in considerable, complex detail.
Set on an aircraft carrier in the South China Sea during the Vietnam War, it describes the antagonistic relationship between two crew members. Pfitz is a pilot, conscious of and grateful for his perceived and actual status, a status he does not hesitate to assert to his advantage. No commentsThe Millstone by Margaret Drabble
Rosamund Stacey is the first person narrator of her own story in the Millstone by Margaret Drabble. Rosamund is a single mother nothing strange about that, perhaps, at least in a twenty-first century Britain where now half of births are outside of marriage. But in the early 1960s, when The Millstone was written, unmarried mothers were not so common and it was a status to which considerable stigma was attached.
Consequently, when Rosamund visits hospital for her regular check-ups, she is summoned from the waiting room with a call of Mrs. Stacey in an attempt to maintain the privacy of her status. (Read the full post about ‘The Millstone by Margaret Drabble’…)
