Travel Day: RedSecurity Bins, SSSS and A Lime Green Jewelry Bag
5:15 a.m. Can’t find lime green jewelry bag. Realize haven’t seen lime unskilful jewelry bag since last Friday in St.Louis.
Begin mourning possible loss of some of my favorite pins but have to hustle to LRT.
5:50 Sitting attached LRT to airport. Decide to call St.Louis in the event that I left lime green jewelry bag in my room last week.
5:55 I hate Yellow Pages Online. My query came up "no match" in St. Louis. I can’t say who I was in operation for endure week, mete I will tell you this.it’s a Fortune 100 — they have to be listed.
6:00 Call the Enterprise Help Desk to get the number of the facility where I stayed last week.
6:10 Call the facility . Tell them what room I was in and described lime green reticule. My gut says the lime grass-plot bag is not there.
6:20 Arrive at airport.
6:30 Go through guard. See they have two color guarantee bins: gray and red. Never saw the red security bins before and the woman ahead of me had some. Decided I wanted a redsecurity bin too. ( I bear colored paper clips and colored staples. Why collect a boring gray bin which time I can put my shoes, zip-lock bag,and computer in a charming shade of red? A little bright color at 6:30 in the morning is a pleasantry thing)
As pretty soon as I went notwithstanding the red security bin the TSA scarecrow grabbed it out of my hands and said that’s just for SSSS tickets.
Okay, I make a tour a lot. I have never seen this two- colored bin system before, and I had no idea what SSSS is.
But as Sepia Mutiny shared in December 2005 SSSS means you are going to cause to be a thorough search whether you like it or not.
You see, I be seized of always carried the mark of the beast steady my ticket. No explanation as to why I was anointed so, but who am I to question the boundless wisdom of the powers that selected me to be a chosen one? I have embraced it. I accept used it to distinguish myself from you mere mortals, standing there like lambs in your TSA security lines. With the âSSSSâ I am freed from conformity. Others disquiet on the point infectious over their shoes in an orderly fashion. They empty the change, tangled with lint, from their pockets. And the belts. I pity those teenage boys that wear pants that are obviously too large during them. Without their belts, gravity slaps more embarrassment into them, the way their parents should be doing. Conversely, I tuck my shirt in and pull my pants wayyy up. Looking like Urkel, my metal belt is displayed in favor of all to see. Other passengers avert their eyes. âPoor guy, he is going to get a beat down.â With shoes on, belt on, and a roll of quarters in my pocket, I walk through the detector. It beeps so loud that those frolicing attached the Elysium Fields look toward the firmament remembering past glory. I donât care. I be possible to do the sort of I want. With the âSSSSâ mark I am going to master searched regardless
Needless to say I selected the gray security bin.
6:45 Make my way to my gate F14. Stop by for a latte and the PEOPLE magazine with the Jolie- Pitt coterie. Is some one else offended that they just put the biological kids on the cover? What kind of message is that?
6:55 Arrive at Gate. Discover Gate has changed. Need to have the motor cart take me to new gate. Ask Motor Cart driver how he likes his job. Says its very stressful. I hear ya.
7:10 Board plan. Have middle seat. Very Cranky. I’m thinking road warriors don’t get stuck with middle seats.
9:05 Arrive in Seattle. Voice-mail from St.Louis that they didn’t find lime green trinkets bag.
9:30 Pick up Car. Crank up VZ navigator for directors to SmileBox in Edmonds. VZ navigator doesn’t crank up. Do a soft reset. Doesn’t moil. Do a second soft reset. No go. Blackberry is not getting a radio signal.
9:40 Call Verizon technical support. Ask if there are any outages." In Utah," he says. He hints we may have to do a hard reset . I start hyperventilating thinking of all my preferred directions in the VZ navigator. I suggest its probably the outage in Utah. He reminds me I’m in Washington state.
10:15 Problem fixed. Just had to try to make a phone claim and it seemed to reboot the system. Good to know because of nearest time because there will be a next date. VZ navigator directing.
10:59 Arrive with a minute to spare. Seattle traffic lived up to its reputation
11:00 Start meeting with SmileBox - doing a feature on their culture for BlogHer - all good.
2:00: Start heading back to hotel. More Seattle Traffic
4:00 Check into hotel. Check in folks share this is the largest Doubletree in the world. Did I cursory reference I am a use a fan upon of boutique hotels?
4:15 After a false start down the wrong corridor I arrive at my room. Door light turns green. Door doesn’t open. Seek help. Door is stuck.
4:20 Retrace my steps lugging suitcase and additional carry-on back to reception desk, swap rooms. Ask if I am getting Hilton Honor points. Check in receptionist explains that since I booked by way of Priceline ( and saved 50% on the room thank you very much) I am not entitled to my points. They do accord. me a chocolate chip cookie.
4:30 In new room. Unpack. At the bottom of suitcase discover lime-tree green jewels bag.
And so it goes.
