Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter by Mario Vargas Llosa

April 30th, 2008 | Category: Art, Educational, Other

Mario Vargas Llosa, novelist, Peruvian, is a word painter, an artist of consummate skill, capable of simultaneous intimate ecstasy and detached observation, skill that constantly surprises, titillates and intensifies. Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter is a novel that details how an eighteen year old writer of hack news stories develops relationships with his aunt and, yes, a scriptwriter, both of whom happen to be Bolivian. Auth Julia is an aunt by definable and identifiable, but non-bloodline association. At least there is still some decency! She is a divorce, not a Peruvian what would you expect, then? and attractive to boot. She is also conquerable. She is a passionate older woman old enough to be his mother! The Abstract Expressionism Movement

April 29th, 2008 | Category: Art, Educational, Other

The Abstract Expressionism Movement, also called the New York School was exclusively an American Abstract Art movement that mainstreamed in New York City in the period following the Second World War. This movement was significant in the sense that it was the earliest American movement to declare non-dependence on European styles and to get a sway all over the globe. It also enabled New York City to replace Paris as the art hub. Prior to its reference to American art, “abstract expressionism” was a term used in the Berlin periodical named ‘Der Sturm’, in 1919.

Arshile Gorky played an important role in inducing The Abstract Expressionism Movement. (Read the full post about ‘The Abstract Expressionism Movement’…)

Hold Back, Generate Love, To Make It Awesomely Best !
You can’t hold back, even as a child. No one tries to stop you, as your not good enough yet, to even get hurt, they figure. You’ll improve with time, and then it will be easier hopefully to take being hurt, like a real man of some nature. You became so gosh-darn by heck good, it’s scary even to you. You want to hold back, but know others that are going all the way. Go all the way something awful, and it work’s both ways, at times. What is it with this here world, at times ? It seems your allowed to only go so far, and then you have to call upon there so called help, no matter how good you have become, or think you have. You know your better than “dam good”, when you don’t have to even say it, nor want too. (Read the full post about ‘Hold Back, Generate Love, To Make It Awesomely Best !’…)

Love That Pleased Everyone !

April 25th, 2008 | Category: Art, Educational, Other

Who would choose who ? What would you do with the perfect love ? What is the perfect love ? Does anyone really know it well enough to even say ?

If you were said to be the perfect love, “Would you try and even lie, to make the other one happy, who came to believe it ? “Love has everlasting questions, and everlasting answers”.

Love is so real, that it’s beyond our understanding, in it’s everlasting fullness of life, and beyond everything that is or isn’t as of yet, to us.

Wouldn’t you feel evil in a way, should everyone be said to love only you, and all at once, never to love anyone else again. Would you be willing to take in this much so called love, and not feel evil, in anyway ? (Read the full post about ‘Love That Pleased Everyone !’…)

Doing More With Less - Beware The Superman Complex

April 24th, 2008 | Category: Business, Educational, Marketing, Other

Some business leaders attempt to do it all (they have the Superman complex) and those that do typically fail. So be realistic about what you can and can’t, should and shouldn’t do and determine how you can best avoid the Superman complex by recognizing and practicing the following tips:

1. You Can’t do it All

Running a business requires a variety of skills and few business leaders are experts at all of them. However, to compete in a challenging marketplace your company must be highly effective at a few essentials, e.g. sales, marketing, operations, finance, service, etc. Therefore you need to be brutally honest with yourself and determine what you should be doing and what someone else should be doing to make your company excellent. After These Things by Jenny Diski

April 23rd, 2008 | Category: Art, Educational, Other

In After These things Jenny Diski accomplishes an almost impossible task. She starts with a well known story, and thus a plot ready declared, a story that claims history and yet is probably myth. She reworks it, gives shape, form and thought to characters we think we might already know, and then puts words in their mouths. She finally presents the whole as an original work, a novel of deception, love and the intricacies of family life in a culture now perceived as alien. And she succeeds brilliantly, creating a new experience in a new world for the reader within a familiarity that her approach reinterprets.

After These Things is born of the Old Testament. (Read the full post about ‘After These Things by Jenny Diski’…)

Developing a Personal Budget Plan

April 22nd, 2008 | Category: Business, Educational, Marketing, Other

In moments like this when the economy is bad, developing a personal budget plan is a sure way to safeguard your own personal future. It’s amazing though that most people prefer to spend and save as the day come and go. They make little or no attempt of using spreadsheets, balance checkbooks or a well planned out formal budget to track their saving and spending habits. It will be to your own self interest if you make it an effort and then a habit to outline and track your daily or monthly expenses in comparison to your income. One great tool you can learn to use, so that this becomes a more pleasant and professional task to do is to make use of a spreadsheet. (Read the full post about ‘Developing a Personal Budget Plan’…)

Scrapbook Stickers

April 20th, 2008 | Category: Art, Educational, Other

Scrapbook Stickers
Enlarge Image Judging by the number of websites and brick and mortar stores dedicated to scrapbooking, this hobby is now a trend. The activity spreading out and expanding its horizons is obviously pointing to its growing popularity. Scrapbooking preserves important memorabilia using printed media located in photo albums and beautifully decorated accounts of important events. Without the decoration and presentation, both extremely important to scrapbooking, it is just a journal or notebook. A journal or notebook is an account of events, while a scrapbook is the same thing with visual impact. In ancient Greece scrapbooking was first practiced, so it isn’t a new creation. It has been around for centuries. (Read the full post about ‘Scrapbook Stickers’…)
